Sticking To Your Goals While On Vacation

You’ve probably heard the saying, “summer bodies are built in the winter”—and there’s

truth to that. But more importantly, healthy habits are built through consistency, all year

long. Just because it’s summer vacation doesn’t mean your goals have to take a back seat.

With a little intention, you can enjoy your trip and come home feeling refreshed, not run

down.

Here are a few of our favorite ways to stay on track while still enjoying your time away:

1. Walk the Town

One of the best ways to explore a new place is by walking. It’s a great way to stretch your

legs after traveling, get your bearings, and scope out the restaurants and shops you want to

visit. Movement doesn’t have to be formal—just consistent.

2. Indulge Mindfully

Vacations often mean richer food, more drinks, and dining out more than usual. That’s part

of the fun! The key is knowing your body and making intentional choices. Try to stick to

whole, fresh foods when you can, and balance out indulgences with something that

supports how you want to feel. We recommend hitting the grocery store early so you can

enjoy at least one homemade meal a day. And don’t forget—just a short 5-minute walk

after meals can do wonders for digestion.

3. Pack the Essentials

Bring your workout gear, or at least a resistance band. It’s small, light, and incredibly

versatile. Whether you’re at the airport, in a hotel room, or outside on a deck, you’ll have

the tools to get in a quick, effective workout. Bring your Longevity “homework” or stream

a quick video—just a few minutes can help you stay on track physically and mentally.

4. Stay True to Yourself

It’s okay to say no. If the rest of your crew is staying up late or drinking more than usual,

don’t feel pressured to join in if it doesn’t serve you and your goals. You know what makes

your body feel its best. Who knows—you might even inspire others to join you for a walk

or workout. Relationships matter, and leading by example speaks volumes.

5. Reset and Recover

Vacations are about enjoyment—but they’re also a chance to recharge. When you stay

rooted in your goals and values, you come back not just rested, but proud of how you

showed up for yourself. Being intentional with your time and creating space to offload

stress is important, so enjoy those adventures, but do it at your own pace.

We love hearing about our clients’ travels—keep enjoying life, taking care of yourself, and

staying committed to yourself and your health-span goals.

You’ve got this!
